DRIVE PR kicked off at Chalmers and AstaZero

Close to 60 representatives of the partner organisations gathered for two days to launch the project, align on expectations and industrial cases, and see autonomous truck testing at AstaZero.

Nearly 60 people from the partner organisations came together on 25 and 26 August to kick off DRIVE PR – Data-Driven Product Realisation, a research project funded through Vinnova's Advanced Digitalisation programme. The project brings industry, academia and research institutes together to advance data-driven product development in the manufacturing industry.

Day one at Chalmers

The first day was about expectations and cases. Partners worked through what they want from the project in small groups, and each work package hosted a station where companies contributed the industrial cases that the twelve research tracks will build on.

Across the tracks, DRIVE PR sets out to strengthen industrial competitiveness by helping companies manage uncertainty, variation and risk more deliberately, using advanced digital infrastructure and collaborative digital ecosystems.

Day two at AstaZero

The second day moved to AstaZero, the RISE test environment for connected and autonomous vehicles and one of the project's test sites. Volvo Group presented its autonomous truck testing programme and demonstrated the ongoing work. Two days later, Ny Teknik featured the same programme: driverless trucks now being built in a bus factory that is more than a hundred years old. Read the article at Ny Teknik (in Swedish).

We now have a common foundation to build on with strong engagement across the consortium, giving us a great starting point as the project scales up.
